The Last Pond Boss

This afternoon I found our nine-year-old goose, Mayor, dead of natural causes. Now there are no geese left at Gooseport, PA. We will miss him.

There’s only one goose left at Gooseport, PA. This is a 2006 photo of Big Mouth (a.k.a. Jabber Jaw). He’s the new Mayor of Gooseport.

Farewell, Old Pal

This morning I found Broken-Wing dead, killed by a nocturnal predator. I fed him corn, grass and bread for eight years. I will miss him.

This Old Goose

Broken-Wing probably tangled with a red fox before I got to know him. I call him Pond Boss. Sometimes he barks just like a dog.
